A panel from the upcoming comic, “This is what democracy looks like.” This comic outlines many of the overlooked pieces of government but also talks about how democracy exists (and often works best) at the local level and outside of government. We’re trying to give the comic away for free as much as possible, but we just launched a kickstarter to help with distribution and workshops. There’s some cool rewards in there. There’s a lot more to democracy than voting for a president. Government is always talked about like it’s one big thing, which overlooks the tens of thousands of separate systems ranging from congressional committees and state offices down to neighborhood meetings that we can engage in. This is a page from a 32-page comic I worked on with @cartoonstudies that lays out the basics of how U.S. government is set up. Contributors and co-cartoonists include @nomikane @james_sturmish @summer.pierre @halliejaypope and a beautiful cover by @kevinczap . More info soon :)

a 2012 drawing of my aunt’s magical studio apartment and a quicker isometric sketch done recently. she lived a remarkable life in this apartment in new york for over 50 years, where she hosted a satsang group and volunteered extensively during the early days of the HIV/AIDS crisis. its one of my favorite spaces.
Some recent drawings for holiday cards that are unfortunately impossible to print into holiday cards because all the colors are too fluorescent 🤷‍♂️
